FAQs

Gorge Walking involves navigating through gorges, which includes walking, climbing, and possibly swimming, tailored to the group’s preferences.

Yes, there is a difference between gorge walking and canyoning. Gorge walking typically involves walking, scrambling, and climbing through gorges, focusing more on exploring the terrain with less technical equipment. Canyoning, on the other hand, is a more technical and adventurous activity that includes abseiling, jumping, sliding, and swimming through canyons, often requiring specialised gear and training.

If weather conditions on the day are poor, our instructor will make decisions based on safety. We can offer a substitute activity, such as caving (or something more weather-tolerant), or you can re-book your Gorge Walking experience for another day. If you have any concerns about weather or conditions, we recommend that you contact us directly.

While being able to swim is a benefit when gorge walking, you don’t have to be a strong swimmer, as we provide buoyancy aids. Just let your instructor know, and we’ll be happy to accommodate all swimming abilities.

Yes, all our Gorge Walking activities are supervised by highly qualified and experienced instructors to ensure the safety of all participants.

You’re welcome to bring your own wetsuit if you have one, or you can use one of ours. You’ll also need a swimming costume, a T-shirt or vest, wet socks or thick socks, a complete change of clothes, a towel, a packed lunch, water, and any necessary medication.
