FAQs

Canyoning involves navigating through canyons using various techniques, such as hiking, climbing, abseiling, and swimming. Participants will wear specialised equipment like helmets, wetsuits, and harnesses for safety. The activity typically includes descending waterfalls and steep rock faces, making it a blend of adventure and exploration in natural environments. Canyoning requires a reasonable level of physical fitness and involves teamwork and guidance from instructors.

Yes, there is a difference between gorge walking and canyoning. Gorge walking typically involves walking, scrambling, and climbing through gorges, focusing more on exploring the terrain with less technical equipment. Canyoning, on the other hand, is a more technical and adventurous activity that includes abseiling, jumping, sliding, and swimming through canyons, often requiring specialised gear and training.

In the event of adverse weather conditions, our instructor prioritises safety when making decisions. We can provide an alternative activity, such as caving or another weather-appropriate option. Alternatively, you have the option to reschedule your canyoning experience for a different day. For any concerns regarding weather or conditions, we encourage you to reach out to us directly.

Water confidence is required in canyoning. This will allow you to navigate through the water-filled sections of canyons safely and handle unexpected currents and pools encountered during descents.

While all outdoor activities involve some risk, our highly skilled instructors are experienced in managing the environment to minimise these risks.

You need to bring your wetsuit (if you have one), swimsuits or bikinis to wear under the wetsuit, a T-shirt or rash vest to wear under the wetsuit, wet socks or thick socks, a change of clothes, a towel, a packed lunch, water, and any necessary medication.
